About this edition

Ella Fitzgerald was an American jazz vocalist. She was known for her purity of tone, diction, phrasing, timing, and intonation. She also had a horn-like improvisational ability, especially in her scat singing. Notable tracks on this compilation include "It's Only A Paper Moon," "The Lady Is A Tramp," "Dream A Little Dream Of Me," and "Summertime" with Louis Armstrong. Fitzgerald recorded some of her widely noted works, particularly her interpretations of the Great American Songbook.
